The Mulberries will see a new community of 750 homes near Witham, nestled in the Essex countryside, yet just 45 minutes from London Liverpool Street by train. The Redrow Homes (Eastern) Ltd development, on Hatfield Road, was a former arable estate until its purchase in 2016.

Initially, Anderson successfully secured the S278 works which were completed in 16 weeks, this included improvements to the main site access, re-positioning the existing Hatfield Road roundabout and forming a fourth arm to provide access to the main site spine road. An off-site drainage connection some 300m along Hatfield Road was installed utilising two way light traffic management, minimising the impact of these works on the regular road users.

Since these early days Anderson has secured Phases 1a, 1b, 2, 3a, 3b & 4a and constructed 3.5km of on-site estate roads; 7,500m of drainage, and 8,500m3 of foundation concrete.

In addition, there has been 29,925m2 of substructure brickwork; 21,002m2 suspended block and beam floors; 32,000m of domestic drainage, a mixture of permeable & nonpermeable block paved and tarmac drives, and laying of 28,368nr individual paving slabs.

Furthermore, we have built various retaining features, including uni-log walls, masonry walls, screen walls, attenuation basins with pre-cast concrete and sandbag headwalls. Over the past seven years, Anderson have collaborated with subcontractors from our vast supply chain to deliver this incredible community .

There will be many more local amenities delivered within the wider scheme, including a junior school, a community centre, play areas and public outdoor spaces, as well as an enterprise area for new and existing local businesses.

Fred Adams a long serving Senior Site Manager with Anderson has been spearheading the charge on this development for over five years.
