MACL creates special garden for local girl lost to cancer

MACL was honoured to help bring a very special project to life at Bocking Primary School, a memorial garden created in memory of seven-year-old Florentina Burton, who sadly passed away from neuroblastoma in 2024.

Alongside the amazing pupils and staff, our team worked to design and build a peaceful space for reflection, learning and remembrance. Florentina’s younger sister will be joining the school in September, and this garden will be a lasting legacy of love, strength and community.

We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to the generous suppliers who donated time, materials and support:
Scott Parnell
Travis Perkins
Riverside Builders Suppliers
TMC Haulage
G&B Finch

Our Site Manager Nathan Gillie and team were joined by some enthusiastic mini site assistants from the school, painting fences and watching the space transform day by day.

“It was an honour to be part of something so meaningful,” said MACL Managing Director Steve Howe. “Florentina’s story touched us all, and we’re proud to help create a space that celebrates her life and brings comfort to others.”
